The entire world, thanks to our lying eyes, widely believed that former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk tapped out when she repeatedly got punched in the face in her UFC 217 title fight against “Thug” Rose Namajunas.
And while the finality of the bout was deemed a first round TKO in favor of new champion “Thug” Rose, Joanna went on the media rounds on Monday and said she did not tap. “Who said that? Who said that? I didn’t tap,” stated the former champion. “I heard this like two times but c’mon I didn’t tap. Someone said that I tapped, I never tapped. Are you kidding me? It was probably I was trying to stand up.”
