Georges St. Pierre put on a dominant run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s welterweight class during his career. On a twelve fight winning streak, “Rush” successfully defended his welterweight title from Johny Hendricks back in 2013. After the fight, the champion receded to a lengthy hiatus from the sport of mixed martial arts.
Nearly four years later, St-Pierre had finally made his big octagon return. However, the fighter decided to step up in weight and debut in the UFC’s middleweight division for his return to the sport.
At UFC 217, “Rush” challenged UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping for his title in the night’s main event. St-Pierre would go on to choke out the champion in the third round, making St-Pierre one of four UFC competitors to ever earn a title in multiple divisions.
Jumping up from the 170 to 185 pound division, St-Pierre has had some changes in his athletic physique as of late. Check out a side-by-side comparison of the fighter as a welterweight and the fighter as a middleweight in the photo below.
