After months of rude comments, UFC’s Colby Covington finally got a receipt for all of the trash talk towards the Brazilian people. Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum wasn’t going to let it slide and decided to confront Covington while the two of them were in Australia for UFC Fight Night 121.
Colby has been in the hot seat ever since his controversial post fight interview following his victory over Demian Maia in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the interview he calls the people of Brazil “filthy animals” and runs down the entire country while getting booed out of the arena. His comments resulted in security having to escort him out of the building, as well as being locked down in the hotel until he was scheduled to fly out.
Being a proud Brazilian, Fabricio Werdum decided to take matters into his own hands. The viral video of the confrontation between them shows a street altercation where Werdum came wielding a boomerang at Covington.
Although the local Australian authorities and UFC are taking this situation every seriously, most have found the entire situation quite hilarious.
Apparently UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic falls into that category as well.
“Watching Crocodile Dundee and working on my boomerang skills!” said Stipe Miocic in a Twitter post
