The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made its second appearance inside the world famous Madison Square Garden Arena on Saturday night. The mixed martial arts promotion hosted the highly anticipated UFC 217 event for the New York crowd. The night featured a series of exciting fights, including the octagon return of former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Prior to UFC 217, St-Pierre had not competed inside the octagon in nearly four years. The fighter called for a lengthy hiatus from the sport after defending his welterweight title from Johny Hendricks back in 2013.
Making his big octagon return, “Rush” moved up in weight to take on UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. The two fighters headlined UFC 217 with a war. Both fighters were battered and bloody before the end of the match, but St-Pierre ultimately came out on top. With a submission victory by way of rear-naked choke in the third round, “Rush” became the new UFC middleweight champion.
Now audio and camera footage from the corner of Michael Bisping has been released, showing the advice the fighter received leading into the second and third rounds. Check it out in the video above.
