Sometimes, even the best make mistakes. For UFC commentating veteran Joe Rogan and UFC President Dana White, the lesson became clear at UFC 210.
UFC strawweight Cynthia Calvillo has been on a tear throughout the division. Undefeated, Calvillo managed to co-headline her second fight ever under the UFC banner. Calvillo and Pearl Gonzalez stepped into the octagon for the co-main event of UFC 210. The fight went down inside the Keybank Center in Buffalo, New York back on April 8, 2017. In the main event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson went toe-to-toe for the title.
Just before the exciting night of fights began, Dana White and Joe Rogan were cage side on the live broadcast to discuss the upcoming events. However, both men appeared to forget Pearl Gonzalez’s name when discussing the night’s co-main event.
The awkward and jarring moment can be seen in the video above.
Cynthia Calvillo would go on to earn a submission victory over Pearl Gonzalez in the third round.
