Johny Hendricks is now gearing up for his next big octagon performance. This time, the former UFC welterweight champion will be taking on Paulo Henrique Costa at Saturday night’s UFC 217. The event is set to feature a series of exciting fights that will take place inside the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York on Nov. 4. It will be featured live on pay-per-view.
That being said, it would appear that the fighter has a message for another former champion. As seen in the video above, Hendricks stated:
“Hey BJ Penn, way to flip that sh*t on me.” Johny Hendricks said about the fake news that was put out.”I said no negative press and you did it anyways. And it wasn’t a speech on how I was going to miss weight. I knew I was going to make weight, that’s why I made that video. And, that’s why I told you that I was going to make weight.”
While Hendricks had missed weight in four of his last fights, the fighter made weight today for UFC 217.
Set to headline Saturday’s MSG card, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre returns to the octagon for the first time in nearly four years. He will face off against the UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping in the UFC 217 main event, on pay-per-view.
Also on the night’s fight card is a long-awaited bantamweight title fight between former teammates Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw. And a strawweight title fight between Joanna Jedrzerjczyk and “Thug” Rose Namajunas.
