Anderson Silva is having a tough time getting inside the octagon with Kelvin Gastelum.
The two fighters were initially set to throw down at UFC 212. However, Gastelum was pulled from the match up after failing a drug test for a marijuana metabolite. Following the fight removal, the two fighters landed the headliner spot for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming trip to Shanghai, China at UFC Fight Night 122.
Anderson Silva has since been pulled from the night’s main event due to a failed drug test. With UFC Fight Night 122 only weeks away, the mixed martial arts promotion is scrambling to fill their empty headliner. Since then, the former UFC middleweight champion has decided to step up.
Michael Bisping suffered a title ending loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217. That in mind, “The Count” has decided to step up on short notice to take on Gastelum in Shanghai, China.
Taking to Instagram, Bisping offered a brief statement on his thoughts concerning the fight.
“Why not.”
