The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to action Saturday night inside the Madison Square Garden Arena, in New York. The promotion hosted UFC 217 inside the historic arena, putting on three separate title fights in the night’s main event.
Featured on the night was a light-heavyweight tilt between top contenders Ovince Saint Preux and Corey Anderson.
Ovince Saint Preux was riding on a two fight winning streak going into UFC 217, with finishes over Yushin Okami and Marcos Rogerio de Lima. That being said, the fighter earned a stunning knockout victory over Corey Anderson in Saturday’s UFC 217.
The two fighters went to war for two round, before Saint Preux managed to knock his opponent out in the final round. With a deadly head kick, the fighter sent Anderson to the mat and brought the fight to an abrupt end.
Following the bout, MMA’s Jim Edwards caught the two sharing a drink at a local bar in New York, reminding us all why mixed martial arts is such an amazing sport.
