OSP Walk-Off KO’s Corey Anderson With Baseball Bat Kick At MSG | UFC 217 Results

Fight fans have flocked to the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York tonight for UFC 217. The exciting night of fights is set to include the octagon return of Georges St-Pierre, which has not competed in the UFC for nearly four years. Including St-Pierre’s middleweight debut match up against reigning champion Michael Bisping, UFC 217 is set to include three exhilarating title fights.

Competing in the sophomore preliminary match for FS1, UFC light heavyweights Ovince Saint Preux and Corey Anderson went face-to-face in an octagon battle.

The first round opened with an awkward pace, as the fighters were patiently sizing each other up. Anderson was eventually able to take his opponent down, but Saint Preux was able to make his way back to his feet. Anderson landed a nice knee to the body of his opponent from the clinch, before Saint Preux escaped the position and made his way to the center of the octagon.

Anderson stuck Saint Preux with a beautiful spinning elbow to the head, but Saint Preux was able to take the strike with stride.

In the final moments of the round, Saint Preux retaliated with a stunning strike that dropped Anderson as the round ending bell rung.

Saint Preux opened round two with a vengeance. The fighter delivered a flurry of blows to Anderson, but the fight was momentarily halted as Anderson lost his mouthpiece during the exchange.

Having lost his momentum from the exchange, Saint Preux attempted to establish a dominant striking game again. However, Anderson was able to take the fighter to the ground again. Anderson continued to pressure his opponent with his ground game, but Saint Preux made it back to his feet within the final 40 seconds of the round. This was a dominant display for Corey Anderson in round two.

Saint Preux appeared gassed in the opening of the final round, but Anderson continued to show great footwork. Then, Saint Preux put his opponent out cold with a blasting head kick.
