UFC lightweight champion Daniel Cormier formerly held a poll over social media to allow his fans to decide the fighter’s next match up. In the end, Cormier revealed that tough contender Volkan Oezdemir was his next target. That being said, Oezdemir appears to have been involved with the police as of late.
As first reported by MMA Junkie, Volkan Oezdemir was arrested on Saturday night by Fort Lauderdale Police and placed in Broward County jail. The fighter was arrested for aggravated battery.
Oezdemir is currently ‘pending trial’ and has a bond of $10,000. Here is a look at the fighter’s mug shot from the recent arrest:
Volkan Oezdemir is currently on a five fight winning streak. Most recently, the fighter earned a stunning first round knockout over Jimi Manuwa. The performance made for the fighter’s second consecutive first round finish inside the octagon. Oezdemir now holds a record of 15-1.
