Fight fans gathered together inside the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York tonight for UFC 217. The highly anticipated fight card saw the octagon return of former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in one of the three dazzling title fight events from the night.
In the night’s main card, Georges St-Pierre made his big return to the UFC after nearly four years away from the octagon. For his big return, the fighter moved up in weight to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for his title. “Rush” brought the New York crowd to their feet with a stunning, title earning finish over “The Count.”
Starting the night of title ending fights off with a blast, UFC strawweight contender Rose Namajunas faced off against reigning champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Coming into UFC 217, Jedrzejczyk was undefeated with a 14 fight winning streak in her mixed martial arts career. Still, Namajunas shocked Madison Square Garden with a first round TKO win over the UFC strawweight champion.
