Dustin Poirier was coming off of a frustrating no contest match up against former champion Eddie Alvarez leading up to Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 120. The fight was unexpectedly brought to a halt after an accidental knee to the head of a ground fighter. As a result, the fight was ruled a no contest.
Poirier returned to take on another former champion in the main event of Norfolk, Virginia’s UFC Fight Night 120. For the headliner, the fighter faced off against former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in a bloody war.
Each fighter suffered some serious damage from their opponent’s strikes, but Poirier ultimately came out on top with a TKO finish over the former champion. Now fighters are taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the epic main event match up.
