Yesterday, the world wide web went into overdrive when rumors of a Nate Diaz return to fighting started to make the rounds.
Seemingly out of nowhere, a Nate Diaz insider came out on Tuesday, announcing that Diaz has started a training camp.
With no opponent mentioned, speculation started to run wild, until top MMA reporters started to reveal that it’s Tyron Woodley who’s in talks to welcome Nate back to the cage.
It’s just the fight the UFC needs to cap off their 2017, and Woodley just broke his silence on the subject.
In a talk with ESPN, Woodley said he’s ready and waiting on Nate.
Here’s an excerpt:
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley had planned to take the rest of 2017 off to nurse a shoulder injury, but he’s willing to make an exception.
Woodley, of St. Louis, told ESPN on Wednesday that he’s healthy enough to defend his title against Nate Diaz at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.
“If Nate wants to go UFC 219, I’m ready,” Woodley said.
