Budding mixed martial artist Benito Lopez made his octagon debut in a recent UFC event. On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Fresno, Calif. for UFC Fight Night 123. The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion provided a series of enticing events on the night’s fight card. Among them, Benito Lopez debuted under the UFC banner in an octagon war against Albert Morales.
Leading into the match up, Lopez was undefeated in his MMA career. With eight victories to his name, the fighter entered the octagon with a hungry ferocity. Lopez and Morales battled it out round after round, with the fight ultimately going the distance. In the end, Lopez walked away with a unanimous decision victory over his opponent.
Taking to Instagra, Lopez has now revealed that he used some of his winnings from his octagon debut to purchase a car for his grandmother.
“I’ve always dreamed of a day where I would be able to give back to my grams for everything’s she’s done for my family and I. Yesterday the day finally came! I used some of my fight earnings to buy my grama the car she’s been wanting. Although it isn’t much, it’s the best I could do with what I had. I love you grams thank you for everything you’ve done and do for us. Thank you to the @ufc & @danawhite for giving me the opportunity to help change my family’s life for the better.
