Breaking: D.C. Confirms Official Date Of Next Fight, And Who It’s Against

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is looking to get another victory under his belt after a strange fight with heated rival Jon Jones at UFC 214. Cormier was looking to avenge the only loss on his record by taking out the former champion. However, Jones earned a knockout victory over his opponent. That being said, the victory was short lived.

It was later revealed that Jones had failed his USADA drug test for UFC 214, stripping the fighter of his title and overturning his knockout victory over Cormier into a no contest. As a result, Cormier was once again deemed the UFC light heavyweight champion.

Comrier has since voiced an interest in facing tough division contender Volkan Oezdemir. However, Oezdemir was recently arrested for alleged aggravated battery of a bar patron in Florida. That being said, it would appear that the two mixed martial arts warriors are now set to throw down at UFC 220.

Taking to Instagram, Cormier revealed the recent news.

“O snap! It’s going down in Boston! Who’s excited? I am @Ufc 220 @stipemiocicufc @volkan_oezdemir @francisngannou #fireworks”

UFC 220 goes down Jan. 20, 2018 inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
