The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and all of the mixed martial arts world faced an unfortunate tragedy today, as it has been reported that longtime MMA coaching veteran Robert Follis has passed away. Now UFC President Dana White has decided to come forward with a statement on the recent news.
Robert Follis cultivated a reputation for excellence during his tenure with the MMA community. Follis was the head coach and co-owner of Team Quest in Portland, Oregon before moving over to Xtreme Couture. The Xtreme Couture head coach spent over four years with the highly acclaimed training team, before departing from the camp in November. Now multiple reports from the coach’s friends and teammates have revealed that Follis has passed away.
UFC fighters have since come forward with their thoughts on the matter, offering their emotional messages over social media. However, the UFC president himself has now decided to come forward with a message concerning the tragic news.
Taking to Instagram, Dana White stated:
“Sucks to wake up and hear this news. RIP @robertfollis such a nice guy.” – Dana White
The official cause of Robert Follis’ death has yet to be announced.
