UFC newcomer Julian Marquez made his big octagon debut over the weekend, as the fighter squared off on Saturday night, Dec. 16, for UFC on FOX 26. For his debut, Marquez put on a dazzling performance that has since earned the fighter “Fight of the Night.” Now a friend of the fighter has decided to take to social media to leak the text conversation in which Marquez was told that he won the $50,000 bonus.
UFC on FOX 26 took place inside the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada on Saturday night, with a fight card full of highly anticipated match ups. Julian Marquez made his octagon debut in a fight against Darren Stewart on the night’s card, but the fight did not go Stewart’s way.
Marquez earned a submission victory by way of guillotine choke in the second round of their match up. Initially, the fighter was only expecting a total of $16,000 for his first fight under the banner of the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion. However, UFC fighter Eric Spicely later informed the competitor that he won the big bonus for his performance.
