Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a living legend of the boxing world. Undefeated, the pugilist most recently earned a TKO victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor inside the squared circle. After earning a TKO over “Notorious,” Mayweather slipped back into retirement with a perfect record of 50-0. Still, fight fans have been waiting to see if the boxing legend will make a return to combat sports.
It has since been reported that UFC President Dana White and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were allegedly in talks about a potential deal to get Mayweather inside the octagon. However, it would appear that Mayweather has no interest in stepping inside the octagon anytime soon.
As heard in the video below, Mayweather explained the situation in a recent interview. Speaking on Dana White’s comments towards the boxer, Mayweather stated:
“I don’t have anything against Dana White at all. He’s a remarkable guy, very very smart guy [and] smart businessman. I don’t need to fight again. If I chose to fight in the octagon, I would be fighting in the octagon because that is what I want to do.”
The retired boxer then put the UFC rumors down for good by saying, “If it did not come from my mouth or Al Haymon’s mouth, it’s bullsh*t.”
Mayweather then continued his thoughts on the UFC president.
“Dana White knows this. That is why Dana White is going to keep going out there and saying ‘Floyd needs money.’ Dana White, my man, it’s just like this. I’m not worried about what kind of money you have or what you are doing with your money or what you are doing with your family. Don’t worry about what I’m doing with my money and my family. That is the problem with motherf**kers nowadays.
“We are too worried about what somebody else is doing with their money. I’m not paying attention to what he’s doing with his money. I don’t know where he lives. I don’t know what he drives. I don’t know what his girlfriend’s name is, his wife’s name is. I don’t know what he is doing at all.”
