Competitors in the combat sports world have a few chances to defeat their opponents. Most notably, fighters are pinned against each other inside the ring to determine which competitor is truly the best. Yet, the fight does not necessarily start there. Rather, fighters will try to get inside the head of their opponents leading up to the match. For this boxer, that meant wearing a really tight pair of boxers.
While trash-talking is a common way fighters compete in mental warfare, there is perhaps no better place for getting into the head of your opponent that the weigh-ins. Finally getting a chance to meet face-to-face, fighters are granted an opportunity to stare each other down and make lasting impressions on their opponents. Pugilist David Allen did exactly that.
Boxer David Allen was set to face off against David Howe when he appeared to the weigh-ins donning a pair of underwear that left little to the imagination. Howe made a comedic gesture to touching the boxer’s groin during their staredown, offering boxing fans a rather unexpected and unorthodox moment for the sport.
