Ahead of her return to MMA action under the Rizin banner, Brazil’s Gabi Garcia just involved in a back stage altercation with her upcoming opponent Shinobu Kandori. Fighter scuffles happen all the time, but Kandori also happens to be a much smaller and elderly.
It’s certainly not a fair matchup, considering Shinobi is 53 years old and much smaller than the BJJ world champion. But this is Japan, and anything goes.
Shinobu boasts a top tier Judo pedigree, but it’s hard to see how she’ll be able to beat the overgrown Garcia, who trains regularly with UFC champion Cris Cyborg. Her Judo experience dates back to the World Championships in 1984 and she hasn’t fought MMA since November of 2000.
Tempers appear to be running high in Japan, and the video above proves that if nothing else, Shinobi is game, and unafraid of Gabi Garcia.
These two will get to settle their differences at te Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix 2017, On December 29, at the Saitama Super Arena, in Saitama Japan.
