Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre failed to draw the big numbers in his UFC return that the UFC expected. He then vacated his world title in record breaking time to now hold the shortest title reign in UFC history. Now, in a new interview with TSN, his coach Firas Zahabi says they went a mega fight against Floyd Meayweather or Conor McGregor next.
When GSP returned to action against Michael Bisping, he said he was returning for a big fight and a new challenge. It was also expected that he would continue to compete in the UFC’s middleweight division, but his trip to 185lbs was very short lived.
Though dominant in his performance over the middleweight champion, Dana White believes that GSP “hand picked” Bisping because he knew the match up was favorable.
Now, in speaking with the Canadian Media, GSP’s head coach says they’ll be looking for a mega fight upon their return to the cage.

“I think Georges is gonna get better, get back in the gym. He’s gonna feel his body out and see what he wants, what’s the most interesting, epic fight out there. Mayweather? McGregor? We need a mega-fight. Georges will come back for a big, exciting fight.”
Do these options make sense?
There’s been no word on Conor McGregor’s next move. However, the UFC lightweight champion recently revealed to TMZ that he expects his next fight will be in the UFC.
As for Mayweather? The boxing pound-for-pound king recently revealed he has a $1 Billion offer from the UFC to try his hands in the cage, but insists he’s retired for good.
The logical next move for Georges St-Pierre would be fight Tyron Woodley, or whoever is holding the belt at welterweight by the time he’s ready for a return to the octagon.
