Top UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has not been having a great year with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The fighter was initially set to face off against Tony Ferguson earlier this year for the UFC lightweight interim title. However, “The Eagle” suffered another complication in his weight cut.
This time, Nurmagomedov was rushed to the hospital due to weight management issues. As a result, the interim title fight was called off and Nurmagomedov has been recovering from the unfortunate setback ever since. With that in mind, the fighter now has his big octagon return locked in for later this year. For those concerned with how Nurmagomedov will make weight, the fighter has issues a response.
Nurmagomedov will go toe-to-toe with Edson Barboza at UFC 219. The event goes down Dec. 30 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Speaking to TMZ Sports, “The Eagle” decided to put worried fans to rest by explaining what measures he is willing to go to make weight for the fight.
“I’m gonna cut my leg … right or left, I don’t know,” Nurmagomedov stated.
