After Khabib’s Big Win, Tony Ferguson Takes To Blasting Both McGregor And Nurmagomedov

It would appear that UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson was not too impressed with top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov’s performance at UFC 219. Now the interim title holder has come forward with some choice words for “The Eagle,” as well as for Conor McGregor.

Khabib Nurmagomedov made his big octagon return on Saturday night, Dec. 30, at UFC 219. Inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., “The Eagle” went toe-to-toe with Edson Barboza in the night’s co-main event. Nurmagomedov put on a dominant performance over his opponent, earning a unanimous decision victor over Barboza.

After the fight, Nurmagomedov revealed that he believes that he is in such great shape that he can take on Tony Ferguson and reigning lightweight champion Conor McGregor within the same night. “El Cucuy,” on the other hand, is of a different mindset.

The UFC first posted Nurmagomedov’s statement to Twitter.

“‘If UFC approves, I’ll fight both Conor and Tony in the same night. Why not? I swear, this is no joke.’ @TeamKhabib at the post fight presser. And we 1000% believe him. #UFC219”

Tony Ferguson responded to the social media message shortly after, stating:

“Don’t Care If The @ufc Approves, I’ll Cut @TheNotoriousMMA … Drop @TeamKhabib & Move Up To Welterweight Either B4 Or After I’m Done w/ This Division & Rid It Of The Trash At The Top. Pollution Has Accumilated Over The Years, Time To Clean House #DefendOrVacate-TheeChamp”
