When UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor entered the sport of boxing, he vowed the game would forever be changed. And maybe he was right? That’s because, in Saturday’s title fight, Boxing’s new king Vasyl Lomachenko was seen taking a page out of Conor McGregor’s book and throwing inside hammer fists to the dome of Guillermo Rigondeaux.
This was a technique once deemed very dirty, and bordeline illegal, and it was never displayed in the highest level of the sport. However, Conor McGregor brought the technique to light, and now he’s been swagger jacked by Boxing’s new star.
Boxing returned to center stage Saturday night, with the Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux world title fight. In the end it was another dominant performance for Lomachenko who once again successfully defended his belt with a sixth round stoppage, and continues to prove he’s one of boxing’s most dominant fighters.
