Mixed martial arts veteran and UFC legend Matt Serra often offers fans his thoughts on what is going on in the world of MMA today through the official UFC podcast UFC Unfiltered with Jim Norton. Now the former fighter has decided to come forward with some criticism concerning UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is coming off of a TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. “Notorious” made his professional boxing debut against the undefeated pugilist legend back on August, ultimately earning the fighter the payday of his career. Now McGregor has claimed that he is looking to potentially make a return to the octagon. However, a match up has yet to be officially announced.
With nothing yet set in stone, fight fans have been proposing possible match ups for the UFC lightweight champion. A trilogy rematch against fellow UFC superstar Nate Diaz is a common thread among fight fans, though many also want to see the fighter unify his title in a fight against interim champion Tony Ferguson. Still, there is a third UFC competitor that has caught the interest of many fight fans.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has yet to be defeated as a professional fighter, putting the competitor in the contender spot below the interim champion for the lightweight belt. With that in mind, Matt Serra does not believe a fight against “The Eagle” would go well for Conor McGregor.
As heard in the video below, Matt Serra stated:
“I do not think Conor should fight Khabib. Conor shouldn’t fight Khabib because Khabib will rip his arm off.”
