Max Holloway Ready To Drag Florian Out Of Retirement, After Recent Criticism

UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway has put on quite the year. While the title holder has only competed twice in the span of 2017, “Blessed” has still managed to draw the attention of many fight fans as a possible “Fighter of the Year” candidate. Now Holloway has decided to come forward with some words for former UFC competitor Kenny Florian over the matter.

The UFC on FOX crew recently decided to cover their favorite MMA moments from 2017. During the segment, UFC fighter turned analyst Kenny Florian voiced his opinion on which competitor deserves the UFC’s “Fighter of the Year” title. Florian decided to pick none other than Max Holloway, as seen in the Twitter post below.

However, FLorian was not initially siding with the reigning champion. Leading up to both of Holloway’s recent match ups, Florian had the fighter’s opponent picked to beat “Blessed.”

Holloway faced off twice in 2017, going against featherweight legend Jose Aldo on both occasions. Holloway first unified his interim title with a third round TKO victory over the fighter at UFC 212. The two MMA warriors would later meet again at UFC 218, in which Holloway put on a dominant performance over “Scarface” and earned yet another TKO victory.

Taking to Twitter, Holloway recently decided to offer his thoughts on getting Kenny Florian’s vote of confidence after picking against the champion for his last two fights.

“.@kennyflorian I know you picked Aldo both times, so thanks for the nod brother. I thought I was going to have to drag you out of retirement to make you a believer lol #blessedera”
