When UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic isn’t inside the Octagon beating up gargantuan men, he’s in his hometown of Cleveland, fighting fires as a fireman.
Next on the champ’s list of opponents is a showdown against the highly regarded Francis Ngannou. However, if you think that’s keeping him from serving his community, you’d be very wrong.
The champ recently discussed his out of cage duties, stating, “I love being a fireman. I wanted to give back, (by) being a policeman, fireman, Coast Guard or something like that. I didn’t know how fighting was going to turn out, so here we are. It’s my way of giving back, and I love helping people.”
Miocic has his hands full in the upcoming UFC 220 main event against Ngannou, but after facing death repeatedly in his community, we don’t think the pressure’s going to get to him.
Respect Champ!
