Now Training With D.C.’s Opponent, Rockhold Says “AKA Isn’t What It Used To Be”

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has crossed enemy lines and is training with Daniel Cormier’s upcoming opponent while in Florida. Rockhold has been spending a lot of time with striking coach Henri Hooft on the opposite side of the country, including his last training camp for David Branch.

Luke isn’t shying away from admitting this fact, and explains that his longtime training home isn’t what it once was.

While doing media ahead of his UFC 221 title middleweight title fight, Rockhold explained why he’s not training at AKA right now.

“You know, AKA’s not what it used to be. Like, you get guys filtering in and out, but, I mean, Cain’s [Velasquez] been injured, Khabib’s [Nurmagomedov] always in Russia, DC’s [Daniel Cormier] doing TV. I gotta look out for myself. I love my brothers and my team out there and you’ll see a lot of them in my corner I’m sure, but this is time to be the best I can be and think about myself right now.”
