The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is taking a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday, Dec. 30, for yet another exciting night of fights. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion will be in the T-Mobile arena for UFC 219. The highly entertaining fight card is set to feature a series of inspiring octagon performances. Among them, flyweights Mark De La Rosa and Tim Elliott are throwing down for division dominance in the first fight of the night. Check out the UFC results down below.
The fight kicked off at a blistering pace, as Elliott manged to get De La Rosa to the canvas early on in the match up. However, De La Rosa managed to sink in an armbar attempt over his opponent from the bottom position. However, Elliott managed to escape the dangerous position and pummel De La Rosa with some brutal ground and pound.
Halfway through the first round, Elliott maintained his dominant position over De La Rosa and continued to rain down some powerful strikes from full guard.
De La Rosa struggled to escape the position, finding himself in a guillotine attempt from his opponent. However, the fighter was able to resist the submission attempt and survive until the end of the round.
It was a dominant five minutes for Tim Elliott.
The second round did not stay on the feet for long, as Elliott managed to get his opponent to the canvas yet again. The fighter quickly made his way to side control and began pummeling De La Rosa with ground and pound all over again. The UFC commentators then noted that De La Rosa appeared to have allegedly bitten Elliott, but the fight continued.
Elliott then managed to sink in a north south choke over the fighter and earned a dominant victory over De La Rosa for a submission win.
