The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Fresno, Calif. tonight, Dec 9, for UFC Fight Night 123. Inside the Save Mart Center, Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega are set to throw down in front of the Fresno crowd for division dominance. That being said, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion has an entire fight card worth of exciting octagon performances in store. Now it’s time to take a look at the night’s UFC results for the exciting event.
Kicking things off, Trevin Giles and Antonio Braga Neto are facing off in the first match on the night’s UFC Fight Pass prelims.
The first round opened up with a bang as Giles set the pace for the fight with some impressive boxing. Redness could be seen on the face of Neto early in the fight, as the fighter was stuck with some tough jabs from his opponent. That being said, Neto retaliated with a swift takedown that put Giles in a bad position on the canvas.
Giles managed to survive the round from the bottom position by keeping wrist control over his opponent. Still, it seemed to be a dominant round for Neto.
Giles seemed to slow down in the opening moments of the second round, as the fighter was looking to stay out of range of Neto’s takedowns. Neto began to walk his opponent down, but Giles responded with a devastating right hand that rocked Neto. With one minute left in the round, Giles began to pick up the pace and put Neto on his back foot. Neto survived the round, but suffered some serious damage from Gile’s striking. The second round appeared to be a big win for Giles.
The final round of the opening fight for the night kicked off with Neto making a takedown attempt on his opponent. Rushing Giles into the fence, Neto managed to get the fighter to the mat, but Giles quickly made it back to his feet. Back to the standing position, Giles put his opponent away with a stunning right hand.
