It would appear that UFC’s Cat Zingano got a little unexpected attention from security when she decided to surprise Daniel Cormier while he was on the job at a recent event.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday night, Dec. 1, to host the finale of the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. The Ultimate Fighter 26 went down this year, with former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and rising MMA star Justin Gaethje coaching for the season. This time around all of the show’s competitors were female flyweights, as the UFC was preparing to crown the new division’s first champion.
The title fight finale was initially set to feature Nicco Montano and Sijara Eubanks. However, Eubanks was pulled from the match up due to medical concerns. As a result, Nicco Montano went toe-to-toe with TUF 26 member Roxanne Modafferi.
The two flyweights went to war, with Montano ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory over her opponent for the inaugural flyweight title. That being said, it would appear that all of the action was not going down inside the octagon on Friday night.
Taking to Twitter, UFC bantamweight Cat Zingano revealed a video of herself sneaking up on UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier during the event. Cormier was cage side as a commentator for the event, so Zingano decided to surprise the champion with a choke hold. After the friendly moment, Zingano revealed that she was approached by security.
“I go to choke @dc_mma out while he’s commentating and I get reprimanded by his security haha.” Zingano stated over social media. “So sensitive jeez. #hebigtimedme #handmethemic #youtapped #catnono #teamalphacat #teamdc”
