White Says UFC Exec Who Offered Diaz Title Fights In Any Division Did Not Have His Approval To Do So

UFC superstar Nate Diaz shocked the MMA world when he choked out Conor McGregor at UFC 196. The MMA warrior has since formed a heated rivalry with the fighter, as McGregor earned a close decision win over Diaz in their rematch at UFC 202. With that in mind, fight fans have been waiting to see when Nate Diaz will step into the octagon once again. The fighter recently revealed that he was offered a title fight in the weight class of his choice by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). However, according to Dana White, the UFC official that made the offer to Diaz may have been speaking out of turn.

Over Twitter, Diaz revealed the news.

“Ufc offered me title fight in any weight class Im kool though I’ll givem a shot when they do something good
On to the next sport for now.”

That being said, UFC President Dana White has since come forward to claim that a lawyer for the mixed martial arts promotion had made the offer out of turn. After the recent UFC Fight Night 123 event, White said:

“I already talked about that. That’s not true.”

“One of our lawyers went a little rogue. It’s fun to be a matchmaker. He went a little rogue on us because he has a relationship with the Diaz Brothers. That’s not true and none of that was ever approved by me.”
