UFC President Dana White came out this week and said the next fight he’s making is Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes. Now, Nunes has made her first public callout of the champion.
In a new Twitter post, Nunes explained why she wants to fight the UFC featherweight champion, and she didn’t mince words.
“First of all Amanda Nunes wants to fight her.” As transcribed by MMAImports.com. “Amanda Nunes wants to fight Cyborg. That is the fight to make, and that is the fight I will make. That’s the fight.”
“Amanda Nunes is a big, strong powerful puncher. I Think she matches up very will with Cyborg too, and that’s a fun fight. That’s the fight to make.
“Cyborg wants to fight. We’ll get her a fight as soon as we can get it done. As soon as Amanda can prepare and get ready for this fight we’re ready to role!”
Of course, Cris Cyborg has since declined the fight, and has instead called out many unranked and unsigned females in her division.
Here’s Amanda Nunes’ statement:
“First of all, I have nothing personal against @criscyborg I do believe it is the fight that everyone wants to see and a fight where we can both leave our marks on this sport.”
