When it comes to UFC legends, there’s perhaps none as big as former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. He broke nearly every record there was to break inside the UFC, and the majority of those records still hold their value today. In a new statement, the MMA icon gives his legion of fans hope, that despite his latest drug test failure, he’s still got more left in the tank.
Anderson Silva has been plagued with positive drug tests and suspensions since the UFC’s implementation of USADA. And despite his early career dominance, that’s still unmatched inside the UFC to this day, his legacy has recently been called into question.
When he failed a drug test after his win against Nick Diaz, many gave him a pass.
However, when he failed again, in 2017, after bouncing back from losses in a fight against Derek Brunson, many gave up hope.
Anderson though, the man who only knows what’s really gone in the latter part of his historic career, is trying to revive hope, that he can return to form, once his latest issues with USADA is up.
Here’s the latest from the UFC legend:
When I look at this photo, I realize how much God strengthens me by always giving me light in my walk. On a long trip, fantastic memories of the time I played in the streets of the neighborhood where I grew up in Curitiba. Everything I’ve been through, everything I’ve built with willpower, determination and great honor.
I had the privilege of putting the coat of my heart team, in a way, to give a world title to him and especially to my people.
I just have to thank you all for everything, I say from my heart, I love you all who are always giving me strength. Kiss!
I really love you, strength and honor to all, regardless of team, color, race, religion and sexual choice, we are all brothers.
Thank you, my people! You can be sure it’s not over yet.
My love and my passion for the fight are here, firm and strong. The fight continues, I will stop when GOD thinks I can not do it anymore. So who is my fan, can be sure, that soon I’m back, to the joy of those who cheer for me and to the sadness of those who don’t kkkkkk
kiss
In November of last year, Anderson Silva put out a public statement addressing his latest run in with a USADA failure. To bring you up to speed, this is what he said.
To All my fans,
Thank you so much for all of the support you have shown me over the past week. This means a lot to both my family and I…I just want to keep you updated on what’s going on now. My medical team is working very closely with USADA to find out the reason for my suspension of UFC SHANGHAI… hopefully we will get more news very soon. I have been fighting for the past 20 years and always try to be an example to my fans and to my spot ….
Again, I want to thank all of you for your support and hope to see you soon for my next fight…
