UFC superstar Conor McGregor has had another teammate come forward to claim that “Notorious” does not hit that hard. This time, Chris Van Heerden has a statement to make about the UFC lightweight champion.
Conor McGregor made his big professional boxing debut back in August of 2017, facing off against undefeated pugilist legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. for the match up. Leading up to the event, “Notorious” spent time sparring with a number of boxers to improve his skills.
Among them, McGregor and Chris Van Heerden spent a few rounds toe-to-toe inside the squared circle. Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Van Heerden has revealed his thoughts on McGregor’s punching power.
“I was not phased by his power at all,” Van Heerden said. “I’ve been in the ring with a lot of guys that can hit, and I’ve been hit way harder by guys wearing 16-ounce gloves and head gear on. I was not phased, so it’s difficult for me to say what his power is like because honestly, I was not phased.”
