UFC superstar Conor McGregor shocked the world when he knocked out formerly dominant featherweight champion Jose Aldo for the title. Even more stunning, “Notorious” finished Aldo in just 13 seconds.
The title earning knockout victory would go on to raise McGregor to super-stardom in the mixed martial arts world. However, there is a single moment from the match up that has had fight fans curious.
Directly after the knockout finish, before the official announcement of McGregor’s victory, “Notorious” approached his freshly defeated opponent and seemed to say something to the individual.
During the post-fight press conference, McGregor was asked about the moment and claimed that he told Jose Aldo, ‘Look we can go again.’
Now the referee for the title fight John McCarthy has decided to clear the air. Taking to Twitter, McCarthy confirmed McGregor’s statement in response to a fan’s question.
“Connor told Aldo that he was a great Champion and that if he wanted they will do it again #AskBJM,” McCarthy stated.
