While not official, a reported UFC strawweight title fight between Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk is in the works for the UFC’s upcoming UFC 223 event.
And while UFC 223 as a whole has yet to be announced, the reported city for the event is Brooklyn New York, with an April 7th date.
In the main event, a rumored, and again, yet to be made official title fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov is expected to be announced this weekend.
This would make the upcoming fight card another double-header title fight event.
“Thug Rose” knocked out Joanna in the first round of their first meeting. And now, it looks like Joanna will get a shot at seeking redemption for that crushing defeat.
Ariel Helwani confirmed these reports as accurate, just moments from this publication going live.
Check it out:
New report coming shortly to @MMAFighting re: Ferguson – Khabib in Brooklyn, plus another potential title fight for that card (which was first reported by @talkmma). It’s good news but one key detail is still unclear at this time.
