Jackson-Winkeljohn Academy has garnered some of seriously impressive talent within the realm of mixed martial arts over the years. With that in mind, the highly acclaimed training camp has found itself on quite the losing streak. Now UFC’s Donald Cerrone has decided to break his silence on the Albuquerque, New Mexico based gym’s 23 fight losing streak.
In 2017 alone, Jackson-Winkeljohn Academy’ own Holly Holm, Donald Cerrone, Ray Borg, Michelle Waterson and Cub Swanson are some of those that faced massive losses inside the octagon. Speaking with Jim Norton and Matt Serra on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, “Cowboy” has decided to offer his thoughts on the matter.
“Yeah man, it’s just wild,” Cerrone explained. “I mean, sh-t, it’s not a thing that’s the norm. Even since I’ve been there we’ve been a pretty successful squad, but lately we’ve had a bit of trouble. Look at me, I’m f—-ng three losses, the worst I’ve had ever. It’s bullsh-t, I don’t know what the f–k is going on.”
Cerrone will be looking to put an end to his three fight losing streak when he faces off against Yancy Medeiros at UFC Fight Night 126. Speaking on the matter, Cerrone added:
“He’s on a three-fight win streak, I’m on a three-fight losing streak. What the f—k is going on here? Somebody’s f—-ng streak must go, that’s what this is gonna be.”
UFC Fight Night 126 goes down Feb. 18 inside the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.
