UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has come forward with a reaction to the recent reveal that the title holder will be moving up in weight to face off against UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for a highly anticipated super fight.
Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier each put on dominant performances at the recent event UFC 220. Miocic earned a unanimous decision victory over rising knockout artist Francis Ngannou, while Cormier finished tough contender Volkan Oezdemir in the second round with a TKO.
After the events of UFC 220, UFC President Dana White revealed an interest in seeing Cormier move up in weight to challenge Miocic for his title. Cormier was, after all, once a heavyweight competitor in his own right.
Shortly after, rumors began to circulate that Cormier and Miocic were being targeted as the new coaches for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. It has since been revealed that Miocic and Cormier are officially set to coach season 27 of the hit reality television show.
Called The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated, the season will air April 18. Miocic and Cormier have also officially been locked in for their heavyweight super fight. The two champions will square off at UFC 226 on July 7 for International Fight Week. The event will take place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Taking to social media, Daniel Cormier has now decided to offer his reaction to the recent news. Over Twitter, Cormier stated:
“#dreamchaser #ufc226 #twoweightchamp #legend #gangstash*t let’s go!!!!!!”
