Top UFC lightweight Edson Barboza has broken his silence, releasing a brief statement on his UFC 219 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The two top UFC lightweights served as the co-main event for the UFC’s year end fight card, and Barboza was thoroughly dominated by the Russian standout.
Khabib Nurmagomedov improved his overall MMA record to 25-0 with the latest in dominant performances, prompting several pundits to consider him the most dangerous man in the division.
Now, with three presumed kings in Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC’s lightweight division is more exciting than ever.
Brazil’s Edson Barboza is right up there with them though, and despite his pummeling 1.5 weeks ago, he’s released an encouraging statement, the first since fight night.
