Bellator middleweight Gegard Mousasi is now considering departing from the mixed martial arts promotion to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). However, the MMA warrior is also looking to venture to the heavyweight class.
Gegard Mousasi elected for free agency after not being able to come to an agreement with the UFC for a new contract in 2017. The fighter would go on to lock in a deal with Bellator MMA. Mousasi has since then made his debut under the competing promotion.
For his Bellator debut, Mousasi faced off against Alexander Shlemenko. The former UFC competitor earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent.
Mousasi recently sat down with his coach during a podcast to discus a variety of subjects. During the podcast, Mousasi and his coach conversed over the possibility of the fighter returning to the UFC after Mousasi’s contract with Bellator is complete.
The fighter’s coach revealed that he would like for Mousasi to return to the UFC. Mousasi then explained that he would want to do so as a heavyweight, as the fighter claimed he is tired of cutting weight.
