UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is gearing up for his next big title defense. However the last time Holloway went toe-to-toe with a wrestler as decorated as his next opponent, things did not go the champion’s way.
Max Holloway is now set to defend his title from former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The two mixed martial arts warriors were initially set to face off at UFC 218. But, Edgar was pulled from the event due to an injury.
Now the two fighters are set to throw down at UFC 222. The event will go down March 3 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. UFC 222 will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
“The Answer” has earned quite the reputation for his wrestling inside the octagon. Holloway’s most recent loss against a wrestling phenom was to Dennis Bermudez.
Bermudez is a college free-style All-American and former D-1 competitor for Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. When Bermudez went toe-to-toe with Holloway back in 2013, the wrestling phenom earned a close decision victory over Holloway.
Only time will tell if Edgar’s wrestling skills will earn a victorious moment for “The Answer” in the fighter’s upcoming war for the title.
