It would appear that the Reebok store in New York has pulled a substantial amount of UFC gear off of the shelves.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) struck a uniform deal with Reebok back in 2014. The new deal kicked off in July of 2015, forcing fighters to wear gear from the popular sports apparel company when inside the octagon.
The six year uniform deal also restricts UFC fighters from scoring any other sponsors for their octagon performances. As a result, the deal has drawn some ire from many mixed martial artists within the promotion.
Fighters such as former title contender Rory MacDonald have gone on to transition into competing promotion Bellator MMA since the deal has been made. Now it would appear that the UFC’s Reebok gear may not be selling well in Reebok’s New York headquarters.
Reebok’s New York headquarters recently began pulling UFC related gear off of their shelves. When asked why, it was explained that much of the UFC’s Reebok merchandise was not meeting sales expectations.
