Fight fans are pouring into the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. tonight, Jan. 27, for the latest fight card from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is offering fans UFC on FOX 27 tonight, including a fight card filled with entertaining match ups.
In the featured UFC Fight Pass prelim for the night, welterweights Niko Price and George Sullivan are going toe-to-toe for division dominance. Check out the UFC results for this exciting welterweight war down below.
Sullivan opened up the first round by quickly putting the pressure on Price. The fighter began walking down his opponent, dishing out a series of jabs and hooks.
However, Price consistently retaliated with precise counters and leg kicks. Halfway through the round, Price managed to take his opponent to the canvas. However, Sullivan was able to make it back to his feet before suffering any significant damage.
The two fighters finished the round at a heavy pace, trading shots to the bell.
The second round kicked off at a methodical pace, as both mixed martial arts warriors appeared to have gained a respect for each other’s strikes. However, Price then connected with a right hand that sent Sullivan on his back foot.
Pressured into the fence, Sullivan entered a clinch with his opponent before taking Price to the ground. Sullivan then began pummeling Price with a series of ground and pound from the fighter’s full guard.
After a scramble on the canvas, Price managed to reverse the position and eventually get the back of his opponent. Sinking in a rear-naked choke attempt, Price managed to choke out his opponent for the win.
