For the first time in MMA history, Bellator MMA might have an edge over the UFC, in terms of their champions.
And while this does not extend across all divisions, one can certainly make the case for that of both promotion’s welterweight champions.
That’s because, the last time UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley lost a fight, it was back at UFC 174, to newly crowned Bellator champion Rory MacDonald.
MacDonald won the belt at Bellator this past Saturday in the Bellator 192 co-main event. It was s grueling five round affair against Douglas Lima, and MacDonald cemented himself as an MMA great in the process.
With a win over Woodley, many are in belief that Rory MacDonald is the greatest welterweight on the planet, and thanks to an Ariel Helwani twitter poll, to which thousands of people participated, we get to see where fight fans stand.
