Intensity continues to mount for Bellator MMA’s incipient heavyweight tournament grand prix, as Frank Mir and Fedor Emeliankenko staredown for the first time.
Bellator MMA has locked in an exciting heavyweight tournament to decide the mixed martial arts promotion’s next heavyweight champion. The tournament will kick off with a heavyweight war between former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and fellow former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen at Bellator 192.
The two MMA warriors will be going toe-to-toe on Saturday night, Jan. 20, inside The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
However, the entire collection of heavyweight competitor’s for the promotion’s tournament met up Friday, Jan. 19, inside the Sheraton Gateway host hotel in Los Angeles, Calif to staredown for the first time.
Among them, former UFC heavyweight champion and mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko squared off for the Bellator crowd.
