Professional wrestling fans were in for a surprise over the weekend, when trailblazing mixed martial arts superstar Ronda Rousey made her shocking WWE debut. Now the former UFC bantamweight champion has come forward to declare her intentions as a newly signed professional wrestler under the WWE banner.
WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event took place in Philadelphia on Sunday night, Jan. 28. After the first women’s Royal Rumble, Ronda Rousey shocked the crowd with her WWE debut.
Following the event, Rousey sat down with ESPN to answer a few questions. During the interview, Rousey declared that professional wrestling is now her top priority.
“This is my life now,” Rousey said. “First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’”
