The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for another exciting night of fights. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is getting ready for UFC 221.
While a title fight is set to go down in the night’s main event, UFC 221 will not be getting the middleweight war fight fans initially expected. UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker was initially locked in to defend his title from former champion Luke Rockhold.
However, Whittaker was pulled from the event after suffering a staph infection. As a result, Whittaker is now set to face off against tough contender Yoel Romero in the night’s headliner.
The two mixed martial arts warriors will battle it out for the UFC interim middleweight title. UFC 221 will be available live on pay-per-view, as the event takes place inside the Perth Arena in Perth, Western Australia on Feb. 10.
