The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is in Charlotte, N.C. tonight, Jan. 27, for an exhilarating night of fights. Fight fans are gathering inside the Spectrum Center for UFC on FOX 27.
A fight card full of interesting match ups is being hosted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Continuing the night of fights, strawweights Justine Kish and Ji Yeon Kim are now throwing down on the FS1 preliminary card for fight fans worldwide. The two mixed martial arts warriors met in the center of the octagon, with Kish kicking things off with a swift jab. Kim waited patiently to counter her opponent’s punches, as Kish began to walk down the fighter.
The pace began to quicken in the second half of the round, with Kish landing a series of punch combinations. However, Kim continued to retaliate with precise counters that seemed to keep her opponent at a distance.
This will be a tough round for the judges.
In the opening moments of the second round, the two fighters entered a short brawl before returning to their methodical pace. Kish was seemingly throwing a higher frequency of strikes than her opponent, as the fighter began to pressure Kim with a few combinations.
Still, neither fighter managed to deal any debilitating damage before the end of the round.
The final round kicked off in a furry, as neither fighter had seemingly cemented a dominant performance in the opening 10 minutes of the fight. Kim then landed a big strike on her opponent, leading to a retaliating punch from Kish that caused an accidental eye poke.
The fight was momentarily halted by the referee to check Kim’s eye. After it was determined that Kim was able to continue the match, the fighters were quickly brought back to the action.
In the final half of the round, Kim and Kish began trading shots at a brutal pace. Kim began to pour on the pressure and walk down her opponent, stunning Kish with powerful punches.
The two mixed martial arts warriors scrapped in the center of the octagon until the sound of the bell. This fight has gone the distance.
