We’re just two weeks away from the highly anticipated matchup between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, and the UFC’s social media team is already using the hasthtag “And New” when posting about the UFC heavyweight title challenger.
Francis Ngannou may be the world’s hardest puncher, and he may be on an amazing win streak, but UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has knocked out his last five opponents in the first round. He’s also tied for the most heavyweight title defenses in UFC history.
However, the UFC has decided to give Ngannou the Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor treatment, and with the hype machine now fully behind the French-African, they must have forgot that this fight hasn’t even happened yet.
Here’s the UFC’s social media post:
#AndNew Baddest Man on the Planet? Do you think @FrancisNgannou gets the title at #UFC220? How?
Francis Ngannou is coming off his highlight reel knockout victory over top ranked contender Alistair Overeem. The UFC 218 win earned him the shot against Miocic at UFC 220 in Boston.
